LOCAL ACTIVITIY WITH ECONOMIC HIGHSCHOOL (EŠO)

We have implemented our local activity in one of the highschools few days before the end of 2023, and they shared with us after the workshop how difficult or easy the task was for them.

Kreaktiva Association conducted an interesting activity during which several teams completed the task of building a tower of spaghetti and marshmallows, which ours and other associations in Europe have been doing for decades. However, this time almost half of the team was "blind", that is, during the 20-minute activity, they were deprived of their sight.

How much reality can change in such a short time, how relationships within the team change depending on the communication abilities of other "sighted" team members and how ready we are for inclusion - they learned during the activity.

The workshop we conducted with the students aimed to provide an experiential understanding of what visually impaired or blind young people go through, which was a unique experience for them. They shared their insights with us and we summarized the workshop with ways to communicate in these situations and what is extremely important for us and our interlocutors if they have this kind of difficulty. We also discussed etiquette towards people with developmental disabilities and touched on key guidelines.

In the end we presented our project and handed all of the participants stickers which they liked a lot.
