Activity 8: Goalball at "Gheorghe Mârzescu" Technical High School of Electronics and Telecommunications

At "Gheorghe Mârzescu" Technical High School of Electronics and Telecommunications in Iasi, a special event unfolded as students from the 10th and 11th grades came together to experience and practice goalball, a team sport designed specifically for athletes with visual impairments.
In total, 12 students embraced the challenge and the opportunity to engage in this unique sport, which emphasizes sensory skills, communication, and teamwork. The gymnasium resonated with enthusiasm as each participant, equipped with eye-shades, learned to rely on sound and touch to coordinate movements and aim for the goal.
The event was not only about learning a new sport but also about raising awareness and understanding of the abilities and resourcefulness required by visually impaired athletes. It provided an excellent platform for students to learn about inclusivity and to gain a new perspective on sports and camaraderie.
The participation and determination displayed by the students were commendable, reflecting the school's commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.
