The main activities of the ACSFJC are to provide non-formal education through sport. Sports activities, in addition to the physical benefits they offer you, healthy living, endurance, offer you behaviour that helps you become an important resource of society. Through the activities we do, we educate young people to collaborate, to be open and to listen to the needs of others, to keep their promises, to be punctual and disciplined. We have 8 years of local activity, working mainly with young people from rural areas. Over time, we have been able to offer the chance for over 400 young people to develop and move out of the countryside to study at quality high schools in the area. Some of these young people have become people with good careers, and the most important thing is that they turn their attention to the community that formed them and help the new generations. 

We started working in activities with people with disabilities only 2 years ago when I was suddenly put in this situation. The communities we work with are often small, and we are the only ones offering educational alternatives to the school system. Thus, two years ago a parent asked us if we could involve in activities with his child who is visually impaired. I agreed to try, even though I had no experience. Later, this young man motivated us to learn and expand. Thus, at the moment we are working with 10 young people with visual impairments and we are also collaborating with a high school dedicated to visually impaired students. In particular, we encourage inclusive sports activities. Using the right rules for all participants, we transform our activities from normal to adapt. Thus, for two years, the young people came to collaborate with each other, to help each other and to socialize outside of the meetings for activities.

Active Cypriot Programs and European Learning Into Acceptance, ACPELIA was founded in 2019 in Limassol Cyprus. Actually, the part of the European Programs of Cultural Association NOSTOS Pissouriou transferred in a new created organization, the ACPELIA, which will continue with the same OID and PIC number (Organization is on rural area of Cyprus with members from all over Cyprus and other Rural areas, our organization is in close cooperation with community councils of these rural areas). All the members of Cultural Association are also members of NGO ACPELIA. Main aim of the Organization is the rescue, preservation and transmission of cultural heritage, sustainability of the environment, discrimination, social and environmental entrepreneurship, social inclusion, elimination of discrimination and racism and the grant to our members of the chance to involve in themes about Environment, Culture, Sports, Racism, Equality, Democracy and Discrimination. Cultural and Sports activities promote social inclusion, human rights and help in the limitation of the discrimination among the generations. In an effort to promote the above-mentioned important values, the association is organizing cultural, informative, educational and interactive activities for youth with the new European Programs department of the association. Those activities include dancing, theater, educational activities with games and action, and other performances where young people are able to learn about humanity issues through Non-Formal Education.

The association was founded to improve and advance the status and quality of life for youth in the community and the protection of social rights of other members of vulnerable groups - children, people with disabilities, the elderly, women and the unemployed.

The aim of the NGO is to provide support to community development through capacity building of each individual practical application of modern methods, to strengthen the capacity of non-profit, for-profit and public sectors on the basis of cooperation and partnership in the development of different services on a local and regional level. We are striving toward a vision - through the establishment of good cooperation and linking different sectors we are trying to contribute to the development of civil society as a whole.
